Artist Statement

1. What makes your work important? My artwork is important because it depicts who I am as a person. I admire birds and their free personalities, like mine and so I take pictures of birds. I also take a variety of pictures of flowers because they are colorful and different like me. Cats can also be seen in a lot of my photos, they have the strong, but a laid back personality like me.

2. What unique imagery or ideas do you use in your artwork? The ideas I use in my artwork is to take the picture from a different point of view then normal. Doing this, it makes the photo have a whole other look to it, making it different.

3. How did you use art media differently from the way other artists have in the artwork in your portfolio? I took pictures of landscapes to depict the beautiful nature that surrounds us. The pictures, are more than just a landscape, they are something that we are given in the world to connect with others and nature. We can learn more about ourselves and the world in landscapes like the ones I photograph.

4. Why is the meaning of your work in your portfolio unique or important for other people to understand? The photos I take are very important to understand. I believe this about any photo. Photos are needed to be understood or no one will know the greater meaning behind it. They will not fully understand me as a person without knowing the meanings behind my photos.

5. What is interesting about the subject matter you’ve chosen for your artwork?  My subject matter, being landscapes, are interesting because they portray the beautiful and powerful world that we have around us. These are places where you can find the most different pieces of nature and where you can find yourself lost in its greatness.

6. Why do you create the things you do? I create the things I do for many reasons. By taking pictures I am able to express who I am. I can also give deeper meanings to my photos. I am given an opportunity to show people the greater things in life. This is all so important for me to do.

7. What made you want to create the ideas and images you see in your portfolio? I wanted to create these images primarily to communicate to people the prepossessing life and world that surrounds us.

8. If you’ve used the art media in a unique way, how did that happen? Why? I used it by using my own techniques in my photographs because it creates more depth to my photos.

9. Why did you choose the meaning in your artwork? What personal reasons do you have for them? I chose this meaning to help people better understand how important it is to know what the earth does for us and how valuable it is.

10. Why do you think you addressed the subject matter of your artwork the way you did? I addressed my subject matter in this way to once again give a different view of different landscapes.

11. Why were your approaches so different from those of other artists in your group? They were different because my meaning to my photographs have an alternate meaning unlike some others. I think I also thought about it more.

12. Who are you as an artist? As an artist I like to be different. I want to be able to express my feelings and who I am in my own photographs which I think is really special. I want people to understand what I am trying to express. My style as an artist is kind of vintage but at the same time contemporary.

13. When you think of your artwork what do you think it resembles? My artwork definitely resembles who I am as a person and what my values are.

14. How would you describe yourself? I am a very outgoing, weird, creative, fun, optimistic, caring, and motivated person.

15. What about you is unique? I am unique because I am wise beyond my years. I give great advice and a lot of my photos portray most of these traits.

16. Does your Artwork reflect you personally? It what ways? Yes I take pictures of different and colorful things. I take photos that are different and have a twist to them, a twist that is hidden.
